The Process Presented (Step by Step)
- Feedstock: Pre-shredded biomass is poured into a large hopper (particle size: ≤ 5 cm).
- Particle size reduction: The material is then conveyed through two grinding stages until it reaches a fine particle size (1 to 3 mm) suitable for the press.
- Drying: The biomass passes through a dryer (drum-type/hot-air), designed to significantly reduce the moisture content from 50% to 10% in a matter of minutes, depending on conditions and the moisture content of the incoming material.
- Processing: Pass through a mixer to adjust the moisture content to the target level (~13%); additives may be added as needed, depending on the material and the desired quality.
- Compression/pelletizing: The press compacts the material to form the pellet.
- Cooling & Discharge: The pellets are cooled and then blown into the selected container (dump truck, trailer, silo, etc.).
